Carrington aims to bring closer what is far away and to show what is near in a new light. It wants to actively bridge distances and let less familiar places be heard in order to build or support new artistic routes. In its home base Ghent it wants to be a space for creation and exhibition, dialogue and discussion, not just aimed at production but open to the process of artistic practice, in sum a plane of energetic forces.
For our first exhibition we invited Belgian artist COSCO [Louis De Cordier]. In the Carrington Gallery he explores the origins of our predicament concerning climate change, bee die-offs, and decreasing biodiversity, with the goal to formulate positive action, by holding talks, and the presentation of sculptures, drawings, videos and installations.
